USB 3 specification finalized

The new USB standard had been finalized and should be aviable to th egeneral public by the end of 2009 but most likly in 2010. The standard has some major improvments for USB. The one that everyone looks for is speed and at 25GB a minute it doesnt disappoint. To achieve these sort of speeds through you would need mulitple hard disks to keep up with the read and write speeds. For the PS4 through expect one host controller and then mulitple ports coming from this. This will mean a cheaper production cost. Super speed USB as its officially known will definitely be on the PlayStation 4.

A recent SONY patent has come to light. It details a a controller that can break apart and act like a wii remote control.
The device can break apart and beam an ultra sonic beam of light and sound which would be tracked by the playstation eye. (which is close to what we originally said) This patent would give wii like controls without breaking any of there patents. This at the moment in our opinion is the most likly way sony will go.

According to a Japan based website Sony is sticking with the cell architecture for the PlayStation4. According to the article the PS2 and PS3 both represented major changes in architecture, the PS4 will reportedly focus on driving down costs both for actual buyers and for Sony itself. If this rumor is true I suspect more information will be coming soon.
